Meg’s first trip to Boston 👏🏻🍂🍃

Traveling is no joke when you’re having flare ups of panic attacks 😅 but we did it & it was beautiful & so so worth it! The past 2.5 months I’ve been in the thick of it, tapering off a medication I’ve been on for 9 years. And it has been hard and I don’t have too much to say on it yet - because we’re still in the thick of it. I’ve been documenting though so I can share all about this with you all on my blog.

But in the meantime - I just want to say how GOOD our God is 🙌🏻🤍 When we are obedient and step out in faith in the things He places on our hearts, His blessings pour out like raindrops in a summer downpour. He affirms every step, He encourages and provides. There is so much purpose in the pain friends, and just remember - anything we entrust to God will turn out good because HE is good 🙌🏻🤍

jessica fun fact: I am actually a little obsessed with golfing 😳 especially a little fall ball on a gorgeous Saturday like today! 🍂🍃 kinda wish I had started years earlier but if I had, I would have never had this experience with this guy & he’s been the BEST teacher ^^^ 🥰 i love how we don’t even need to ask each other what we’re doing on Saturdays anymore - golfing & Mexican food, duh 😏

Marry someone who challenges you & pushes you to be the best version of yourself, loves you right where you’re at, someone who doesn’t mind doing the grocery shopping when you’re just not up to it & fosters your ambitions of becoming a professional golfer. ☺️🙌🏻

BUT - be willing to do the same for them in return. Marry someone who you would willingly put their needs, their ambitions, before your own. Marry someone who you will fight for, who you are willing to journey through life’s hardships with, who you will never give up on.

And at the end of the day, if you are both pouring into each other & prioritizing each other, your love and admiration for each other will grow with the years and your marriage will thrive.

Walk boldly in faith. A few years ago - I had no idea what it meant to do this. I was learning to cling to my faith during rough seasons with my mental health, but I didn’t necessarily know how to move ahead with faith as my foundation.

I think we tend to rely on our faith when our circumstances are really ugly, when those we love are hurting or the weight of the world seems to be bearing down on us.

But what about walking boldly in faith in the ordinary? In the every day moments, in the mundane? What about walking boldly in faith with your career, your parenting, your friendships?

When COVID started, and I began working from home and navigating this new normal along with everyone else- my world wasn’t being rocked in a horrific way like so many others were. But a few months in I felt God nudging me. Nudging me to step into discomfort and walk boldly in faith. To start writing again, blogging and sharing openly, to step back into entrepreneur work, take on a volunteer position and to make serious change with my mental health journey all while still working full time and serving others around me.

I’m deep in the discomfort right now. But I’m boldly walking in faith. And I’m already praising God for what he’s doing with this discomfort because I know it’s going to be big and glorify him.

Hugs and hand holding. Celebrations and picnics. Crowded dance floors and coffee shop lines. Mask-free smiles and airplane travel.

None of it looks the same right now. And it might not for a while. And there’s still hurt and suffering and fear and tears.

But don’t stop loving your neighbor. Don’t stop lending a helping hand, holding the door open, exchanging a friendly smile or chatting with your elderly neighbor (from a safe distance).

Call your grandparents who are stuck in their homes. Text your friends in healthcare and ask them how they’re ACTUALLY doing. Thank the grocery store clerk and help them bag your groceries.

Community and respecting one another is what is going to continue getting us through this. And most importantly - keep loving. Hug when it’s safe, visit when you can. Family is a constant in a world where everything seems fleeting. Kindness and community starts at home.

Real talk time: I have started a blog 4 different times in the past 7 years. 4 times I built a website, 4 times I only half committed before my mind talked me out of it.

Why? I was worried what YOU all would think. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I convinced myself it was silly and pointless.

But if God plants a seed in your heart and it doesn’t wither and die, but keeps nudging you time and time again- it’s time to re-evaluate.

I’m being obedient this time and taking each step in faith. I’m praying over this project every morning to make sure this is God-ordained and not a desire of the flesh. He’s reaffirmed it daily since I started on this path with Him.

And by the way - GROWTH IS UNCOMFORTABLE.

So follow along while I pursue this project. Recipes, projects, DIY and home improvement. Wellness and event planning. We’re gonna design a life that BLOOMS together.
